Today's Journey: Healing your relationship with God
I know how hard it is to not be mad at God. If you grew up like me it was always taught to Fear God otherwise you will get punished and go to hell. Many times the message was watered down so much that there was no true reverence for God and many claimed to be Christians while comfortably living in sin.
The irony I discovered in my own life was that I actively choose many times to run away from God because I did not want to follow his commandments. I felt he was a dictator that just wanted me to do what he says, but the I would have the audacity to turn around and blame him the moment things got hard in my life.
I treated him like my genie for my entire life, throwing demands and requests his way all while refusing to build a genuine connection and relationship with him. That level of chaos in my life was all that made sense. I see this around the world everyday, no one wants to heed to God’s word yet everyone wants to blame him for everything that goes wrong.
After being on this planet for 34 years, when I was saved and truly built a relationship with God only then did I understand how wrong I have been. I viewed Christianity as this dictatorship but what I found was a loving Father who just wants me to be safe. When I started praying to the Holy Spirit to help me understand Scripture, only then could I see that those were instructions to keep me safe and not to harm me.
Does that me that we don’t face trails every again, No. Because there are many people out there that are Godless and because of that fact, we many times suffer the consequence of their bad decisions and actions. The freedom you find reading and living God’s word helps you navigate your life according to his Will.
Even when you face trails and tribulations the Peace for me that surpassed all understanding was the fact that I know he never forsakes me. He always finds a way to help me get through my difficulties. We are in a fallen world because of our own decisions as a human race.
Let's keep rebuilding.
“ 34 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

Why have you been so angry with God?
Guided Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank you Father for everyone that has started the Grace Challenge. Thank you Father for the courage you have blessed them with to take these difficult steps towards healing.
You alone know each one’s pain and what is tucked away deep down in there hearts. Father the anger towards you, the bitterness and even the hatred. You also see the guilt, shame and condemnation we carry for feeling this way. Please help us to forgive you and to ask you to come and rebuild the relationship with you.
Father you have never forsaken us and for that we are truly grateful. Keep carrying us through these trails until we are truly set free.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
