Today's Journey: How to rebuild your Identity in Christ

There is a reason why satan is called the father of lies. We grow up being indoctrinated by our community, peers, society and social media. Everywhere you look you can witness first hand how we are transformed by what the world says. Then we grow up into adults that suffer major identity crises, and end up lashing out at anyone and everyone that dares mention Jesus name.

It was always so funny to me that I accussed God of being a dictator because he wanted to tell me what to do and then I would turn around and follow the world blindly with no questions asked. The problem is created so the solution can be given at a major cost as well. My entire life it has been advertised that you need to enjoy your twenties and go crazy. It is okay and acceptable to be in my twenties, always partying being the wild card and I was labelled as fun as a good time. How the shoe dropped when I reached my thirsties and now I am a alcoholic and drug addict, I sleep with men to feel good about myself. Then it was no longer cute and the speech changed to you have a problem becuase you should have had your life together by now.

My question remains, How? When in our twenties we are pushed to these crazy party lifestyles, how are we magically suppose to be stable by our thirties.

That my sisters is where the choke hold is and we face major identity crises and we get depressed and just lose the Will to go on.

What I learned over the past few years was how amazing God’s Grace is and that he finds you in the middle of you mess and break down. He helps you to strip away who the world told you to be and he helps you ground yourself in his Identity. So that you can walk around boldly with who God says you are and not satan with his minions.

Open yourself to this challenge be honest and surrender to God so that he can do a great work in you. You are loved and you are not to far gone. God sees you , he loves you and he is waiting for you to invite him in.

Let's keep rebuilding.

“ “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.””

I pray Father that she knows how loved she is and that the lies she has believed all these years will be broken down in the name of Jesus. I pray a renewed mind Father, I pray a Peace that surpasses all understanding.

I pray you will protect her and guide her. May she become less as you increase in her life. Father thank you for the great work you are going to start and finish in her life.

In Jesus' name,
